At the IRT, we conduct both basic and applied research in the field of systems and control. The main objective is the development of modern automatic control concepts, for which mathematically rigorous guarantees can be obtained. Current main topics are model predictive control, data- and learning-based control, and estimation of nonlinear systems. Applications of the developed methods can mainly be found in biomedical engineering and systems medicine, but also in other areas such as robotics or power systems.
